From Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn to Vorderstoder to the parish church on the Benedict pilgrimage trail!
Along the Klauser See lake, the trail first leads to St. Pankraz. There you continue to follow the Steyr upstream and pass the Stromboding waterfall. The trail continues to Hinterstoder and then over gentle forest and meadow ridges to picturesque Vorderstoder. Everywhere there are views of the magnificent mountains of the Tote Gebirge and the mountains of the Kalkalpen National Park.
For long stretches, you follow gravel and forest paths as well as wonderful forest trails. This stage of the pilgrimage is very varied. You pass the picturesque and embedded Klauser Lake and do not notice that it is a reservoir. You pass through small gorges, lovely villages and hamlets. The waters of the Steyr in its upper course with its rapids and at places, such as the Stromboding waterfall with its loud roar, are a special experience. The last section leads through forest sections and wide meadows up to the picturesque village of Vorderstoder. All around, the mighty mountains and imposing jags of the Stoderkamm or Totes Gebirge and the mountains of the Pyhrn-Priel region tower up. It is also a fully developed region for both summer and winter tourism. There is therefore no lack of accommodation, nor will you miss a good inn.
You will pass by numerous wayside shrines and altarpieces. The parish churches in this once very remote and mountainous region are endowed with individual special cultural works of art. The exact route: https://www.benedikt-bewegt.at/etappe/n09-klaus-pyhrnbahn-vorderstoder/#dmdtab=oax-tab3
