From Vorderstoder to Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn to the parish church on the Benedict pilgrimage trail!
The stage leads from sunny Vorderstoder over the hilly landscape of the Hutterer side to Hinterstoder. The view of the Tote Gebirge mountains with their impressive Priel mountains accompanies the pilgrim. In the wild and romantic gorge of the Steyr, you follow the Flötzersteig trail downstream and also the "Salzsteigweg" trail. You pass through St. Pankraz, cross the Teichl and reach the Kalkalpen National Park via a small hill. Then the Klauser reservoir accompanies the pilgrim on the left to the village of the same name with its castle and mountain church.
The 2nd stage of the Benedict Trail in Upper Austria again runs along many paths, natural and gravel paths and also through many forest sections. The pilgrimage along the wildly romantic course of the Steyr river on the Flötzersteig trail and later with the view over the Klauser reservoir on the Salzsteig trail, where the water glistens magnificently on sunny days, is quite impressive.
At just under 32 km, this stage is one of the longest on the Benediktweg. Pilgrims should consider doing this stage in two days, especially if they are not so fit. There are several accommodations along the way, only a few hundred metres off the route, where you can make a stopover.
