Description: Due to utility line installation work being carried out on behalf of Linz Netz GmbH, it is necessary to close a section of the pedestrian and bike path in Friensdorf (marked in red below) along the B124.
To avoid the need to travel the entire length of the B124 Königswiesener Straße, a local detour has been set up (marked in yellow below). The detour is also signposted.
Please exercise extreme caution when crossing the B124 roadway!
Of course, it is also possible to drive on the B124.

The cycle path leads through the Wartberg municipal area and connects directly to the cycle paths of the neighbouring municipalities of Hagenberg, Pregarten and Unterweitersdorf. The cycle tour can be started anywhere, as the cycle tour is signposted in both directions, as well as at all junctions in the neighbouring municipalities. Recommended starting points are the car park at the railway station or at the car park opposite the Kulturhaus Brückmühle in Pregarten, as well as at Wartberg railway station by the Schloss Haus.
The route is mainly on tarmac farm tracks and local roads. Part of the route leads along a well-maintained bridleway. National roads only have to be travelled on briefly. The total distance of 16.5 kilometres includes some long, challenging climbs and therefore requires a certain level of fitness. There are plenty of inns along or in the immediate vicinity of the cycle route for refreshments and recharging your batteries. Once you reach the centre of Wartberg, a detour to the Wenceslas Church (district war memorial) with its magnificent panoramic view over the undulating hills of the Mühlviertel or to the parish church is highly recommended. On fine days, the view extends to the Alpine chain from the Ötscher to the Untersberg. At the municipal border with Pregarten, you can take a detour on foot to the "Unteres Feldaisttal" nature reserve or to the Gasthaus - Jausenstation Kriehmühle. Shady resting places in the wild and romantic Ais Valley invite you to relax and recharge your batteries in this natural jewel.by car:
