Hacklbergrunde - Mountainbike-Strecke

Starting place: 4644 Scharnstein
Destination: 4644 Scharnstein

Mountain bike circuit over the Bäckerberg to Hacklberg

The mountain bike circuit over the Hacklberg is a short tour with wonderful panoramic views, which you can also enjoy at a culinary level. In addition to the starting point at the village square in Viechtwang, where you can stop off at the GH & Fleischhauerei Silmbroth, for example, the Derischleiten snack station on the Hacklberg is also always worth a visit.

The tour starts at the Viechtwang cemetery car park or at the Viechtwang train stop. From there, follow the R11 Almtal cycle path for a short distance via the village square of Viechtwang downhill to the Stoiberau district. Before the railway crossing, turn left uphill along the road towards Kirchham, Hagenmühle (GOMDE).
Follow the asphalt road up to the hill and turn left towards the Derischleiten rest stop or the GOMDE Buddhist Centre. Then take the gravel road towards GOMDE, at GOMDE drive more or less straight ahead into the Santenau forest road (please do not turn into the car park or the access road from GOMDE).
Follow the forest road until it forks slightly to the left and continues uphill along the forest road. Continue uphill until you reach the ridge and get a marvellous view of the Almtal valley and the mountains. A panorama from the Traunstein over the Tote Gebirge to the Großer Priel.
Turn right here in the direction of Schöberlbauer/St. Konrad. Shortly before the "Schöberlbauer", turn left and follow the narrow gravel path to the Hacklberg goods road. Follow this road downhill to the "Beim Bach" junction, then turn left towards Viechtwang town square.

We ask for your consideration - because only through mutual consideration and fairness will it be possible to further expand the mountain bike network in the Almtal.

We would like to thank the Rath-Santenau forestry road cooperative and the forestry office of Kremsmünster Abbey for making the route possible and for their co-operation!
