Start and access:
It is possible to start anywhere. In the centre of St. Radegund and approx. 50 m next to the Jägerstätterhaus there is an overview board for the entire trail.
Length: 5.8 km | walking time: approx. 1 hr 30 min | metres in altitude: 65
Condition: Consists mainly of forest and meadow paths. One part is
natural. Not suitable for pushchairs and the like. Appropriate footwear is recommended.
Start in the village centre: We head east, at "Bleikner Kappelle"(1), half left towards "Jägerstätterhaus". Then "Auf der Höhe" with a view of the Northern Alps. In the next settlement, the path leads left behind the home of Blessed Franz Jägerstätter (with museum)(2). Continue eastwards, past fields and meadows, over the main road, past the "Schirck" farm(3) between the house and the machine shed, then left to the forest. There take the path half right into the forest. At the clearing on the left, after a short ascent in the forest, we reach the "Jagdkapelle" (4). The quietest part of the route begins on the right past the chapel. On the unspoilt forest path heading west, you can feel the closeness to nature. The signs and markings lead us out of the forest again in an arc to the south. We pass the Harbeck company on the right (a hall with a bund factory) and enter the "Tiefental" valley. Following the forest, we reach a tarmac road and take the path on the left up the slope. At the top on the right we see the "Jägerstätter Feierplatz" (5). Our path continues to the avenue and inner courtyard of the Hofbauer inn (beautiful Bundwerk-Stadel) to the starting point. We recommend a visit to the pilgrimage church(6) and the inn, and the municipality of St. Radegund wishes all hikers lots of fun and wonderful moments "Over the heights".
