Hike to the Seisenburg ruins from the center of Pettenbach
Hiking trail K30
From the starting point near the Dürndorf bus stop, you hike along a meadow path to the Kreuzbankerl, along the Dürnbach to the Scharzerkogel, further on a forest path to the Hanselhubersiedlung and over the Sausbach to Dörfl.
From here it goes left over a forest road to a wild feeding place. There you decide on the trail or the easy forest road to get to the ruins of Seisenburg. Here you have a beautiful view of Pettenbach and the foothills of the Alps. Distance from the starting point to the ruins approx. 4.7 km.
Way back (4.7 km back again)
From the Seisenburg ruins you can return to Pettenbach by the same route, or via the Jägersteig K31 to the Magdalenaberg (or to the Inzersdorf i. Kr. Magdalenaberg bus stop) and on to Pettenbach.
Other destinations:
Pernecker Kogel, high trail over the Pernecker Kogel to the Kaibling.
How to get to the Almtal (to Pettenbach im Almtal):
We recommend that you travel by public transport!
by train: from Wels train station with the Almtalbahn (line 153) to Grünau im Almtal;
Numerous connections from Wels train station to the main trains on the Westbahn route (line 101), Pettenbach train station
Approx. 10 minutes walk to the starting point at the Dürndorf bus stop
by bus:
OÖVV bus line 481 Kirchdorf - Pettenbach - Vorchdorf
Pettenbach Dürndorf stop
With the Traunstein Taxi Route 70 coming from Scharnstein or Vorchdorf to the Pettenbach Ortsmitte stop, call the taxi center at least 1 hour in advance on 050-422 1691 or order on the otaxi app.
Approx. 5 - 7 minutes to the starting point at the Dürndorf bus stop
by foot: From the center or the Pettenbach train station or the Steinbachbrücke train station in the Almtal, you can comfortably walk along the described paths to the Seisenburg ruins!
by bicycle:
On the Almtalradweg R11 via Pettenbach to the GH Ranklleiten, Heiligenleithen to the parking lot at the beginning of the hiking trail to the ruins.
On the Traunviertel tour, stage 2, coming from Schlierbach via Magdalenaberg (to Gmunden) to the parking lot in the village of Dörfl at the beginning of the hiking trail to the ruins.
Please pay attention to the traffic when crossing the B 120!
by car:
Westautobahn A1: Vienna - Voralpenkreuz-A9 - exit Ried/Tr. and Inntalautobahn A8 Passau - Wels - Voralpenkreuz A9 - exit Ried/Tr. - Voitsdorf - Pettenbach on the B 120 in the direction of Scharnstein, after the bridge over the B120 turn left into Seisenburgstraße and follow the road to the car park in the district of Dörfl at the beginning of the path to the Seisenburg ruins, or you can park at the Pettenbach train station
Westautobahn A1: Munich - Salzburg - Regau - Gmunden - Scharnstein in the direction of Pettenbach, before the bridge over the B 120 turn right into Seisenburgstraße and follow the road to the car park in the district of Dörfl at the beginning of the path to the Seisenburg ruins or you can park at Pettenbach train station
