The Roman Trail: In the footsteps of the Romans

The starting point is the town centre of St. Marienkirchen an der Polsenz (approach from Wels or Eferding on the Wallerner Bundesstrasse - B134). You can park at the community centre, at the kindergarten or at the outdoor pool.
Trail type: very idyllic, leads along some forest paths. Walking time: approx. 2.10 hours; length: 7.7 kilometres
Route: Centre of St. Marienkirchen - after the Wurm bakery turn left to the Polsenz - left along the stream - over the bridge - straight ahead towards the end of the village - follow the crossroads to the left to the ridge - turn left towards Holzwiesen - turn right into the forest - immediately left - after the forest straight ahead to Güterweg Holzwiesen - first turn right and then immediately left to Römerweg - descend through the forest in the direction of the Schallerbach hiking trail to the Roman milestone (on the left in front of house no. 10) - after the house steeply down to the forest - before the Polsenzhof (FAB) turn left - on the Klausenweg within sight of the Polsenz back to the village
The hiking map with the leisure trails in the Obst-Hügel-Land Nature Park is available from Monday to Friday during office hours in the Nature Park office and in the two municipal offices in Scharten and St. Marienkirchen.
