Swimming in Upper Austria

Over 70 lakes in the Salzkammergut - from the Attersee and the Traunsee, to the Mondsee or the Wolfgangsee, to the Hallstättersee and the Gosausee - are a paradise for water rats. Whether cooling off or water sports: this is the place to be.  Especially popular with families are the warm bathing lakes in the Entdeckerviertel, such as the Holzöstersee or the Heratingersee. Nature lovers and romantics will find idyllic spots by the water, for example at the Gleinkersee, the Feldkirchner Badeseen, the Rosenhoferteich or the Weikerlsee. These and many other bathing lakes, ponds and river pools provide splashing variety. At the same time, a large number of outdoor pools offer swimming fun in the sports pool.

From the largest lake to the deepest lake in Austria

They lie like oversized bathtubs in the northern foothills of the Alps. And the lakes of the Salzkammergut are also used for bathing in abundance. From the largest inland lake in Austria - the Attersee - to the deepest lake in Austria - the Traunsee - the who's who of lakes is gathered in Upper Austria.
