Mountain biking in Upper Austria

Enduring calves are in demand on 3,000 kilometres of mountain bike trails in the Salzkammergut, Mühlviertel and Pyhrn-Priel. The well-known Dachstein Tour rewards with magnificent views and the "Transnational Park Tour" with a green wilderness in the Kalkalpen and Gesäuse National Parks. Along the way you will repeatedly encounter rustic alpine pastures, huts and warm hosts.

As diverse as the landscapes in Upper Austria are, so are the offers of those regions that have specialised in mountain biking. Austria's largest mountain bike marathon, the Salzkammergut Trophy, takes place in the Salzkammergut. The picturesque world heritage region is also home to numerous mountain bike tour classics, first and foremost the Dachsteinrunde. The Pyhrn-Priel region combines wildly romantic alpine adventures à la Trans National Park with the downhill hotspot Wurbauerkogel - a bike park for all skill levels. The mountain bike arena in the deep pine of the Kobernaußerwald invites you to enjoy a pump track in Maria Schmolln. And the far north beckons with countless hills and correspondingly crisp climbs, varied trails and sometimes surprising far-reaching views in no less than three mountain bike areas: Mühlviertler Granitland, Sterngartl-Gusental and Mühlviertler Alm.
