150 km long-distance trail to the most beautiful places in and around the Kalkalpen National Park.
The Kalkalpen Trail connects the Enns Valley from Reichraming with the Dead Mountains near Hinterstoder. It leads over the Sengsengebirge to Windischgarsten and via Spital am Pyhrn to the Wurzeralm. From there, it goes over Hinterstoder and the Flötzersteig to Sankt Pankraz.

Willkommen in der Region Pyhrn Priel
Das Hotel Freunde der Natur befindet sich mitten in der Natur einer einzigartigen, malerischen Berglandschaft - Spital am Pyhrn, Oberösterreich.
Unser Hotel wurde im Zeitraum von 1979 bis 1984 von den Naturfreunden Oberösterreich geplant und erbaut - ursprünglich als Haus für Jugendgruppen erdacht, entwickelte sich das Hotel in Richtung Seminarhotel & Urlaub für Schul- & Kinder- bzw. Jugendgruppen.
Im Laufe der Jahre ergaben sich immer wieder Renovierungen und Anpassungen, um unseren Gästen einen angenehmen Aufenthaltsort zur Verfügung stellen zu können.
Seit April 2016 ist Herr Gerold Royda Geschäftsführer im Naturfreundehotel Spital am Pyhrn. Das Team selber besteht aus langjährigen Mitarbeitern, sowie einigen neuen Teammitgliedern.
Von Mai bis Ende 2017 wurden die öffentlichen Bereiche (Restaurants, Seminarräume, Wellnessbereich, Lift) auf den neuesten Stand gebracht.

Der 21 Meter hohe gläserne Turm bietet einen atemberaubenden Panorama-Rundblick. 21 „Zweitausender“ sind bei guter Fernsicht zu sehen: Totes Gebirge, Sengsengebirge und Haller Mauern fast zum Angreifen. Im Nationalpark Shop kann man hilfreiche Wanderbegleiter sowie Spielwaren und nette Mitbringsel einkaufen.

Die Ausstellung Faszination Fels vermittelt Besuchern Wissenswertes, Erstaunliches und Weltmeisterliches aus der Tier- und Pflanzenwelt oberhalb der Waldgrenze. Ein faszinierender Naturfilm zeigt die Bergwelt der Nationalpark Kalkalpen Region, krönenden Höhepunkt bietet die Aussichtsterrasse am Panoramaturm.

The Ennstalbahn runs between Linz and Weißenbach-St. Gallen. Depending on the day of the week and time of day, trains run at one to two-hour intervals.
