Legendary cultural life
Parish church Oberkappel - Gothic side chapel in the parish church with net rib vault and beautiful neo-Gothic altar, giant secco fresco 'Resurrection of the Dead' in the apse of the main church.

Kneipp and forest wonder path along the Ranna reservoir with 6 stations for arms, legs and whole body

TIP
Detour to the wildly romantic nature reserve 'Bärnloch'
Directions:We hike or go to the Austria/Bavaria border crossing, where we immediately turn right to the end of the meadow, where we sharply turn left along the Osterbach to the junction to the wildly romantic “Bärnloch”. We hike uphill turning left through a hamlet, then turn left again to the southwest until the first beautiful view of Oberkappel. It continues right to the asphalt road and then left to a sewage treatment plant. From there half-left on a forest path to the dam of the Ranna bathing lake. On the other shore after about 100 m, we turn left onto a forest path to a parking lot. From there, one could hike directly back to Oberkappel. But we follow a forest path past Dittmannsdorf to the ÖMV pumping and compression station. There we branch off, almost circle the huge facility and come to another beautiful panoramic view of the western slopes of the parish forest ridge. Back at the junction, after a large farm, we turn left eastwards onto a forest or meadow path with another beautiful panoramic view. After crossing Rannariedler street steeply downhill again towards the Ranna. In the “Langmühle” we turn onto a meadow, later forest path on the right bank of the Ranna. At the “Konzinger Steg” we cross the reservoir and turn left onto the Kneipp and forest wonder path, which also has interesting and entertaining stations for children. After the bridge over the Zanklbach, turn right on a forest path to the hamlet of Finsling or straight on directly to Oberkappel. Before Finsling, turn left, follow the road for 100 m and then turn right on a meadow path to the Süss chapel, already visible from afar with a beautiful panoramic view. After 200 m, we arrive back at the starting point.Tip:

"Hello to you all" at the lively children's organic farm! Surrounded by fields and woods, our picturesque property is located on a small hill over the Rannasee lake. Leave your cares behind and enjoy our idyllic farm freely and without inhibition with your family. Nature, calm; unwind in our garden under the apple tree. The children can happily play in the field.
We inherited the farm from our ancestors and would like to pass it on to our descendants with a clear conscience. Organic economics with conviction. Pure, natural, genuine. Taste real nature, pure milk, natural honey, butter made by hand. Would you like to join in? Of course. Milking cows, feeding farm animals, looking for hen eggs - all help at the farm is welcome and the cat is purring already.
Can you feel the tickle of the sun's rays? Our horses can lead you through the woods and fields in the horse-drawn carriage. Over there a butterfly, here a deer, in the herb field a hare. Back at the farm? Enjoy the warmth from the wood felled in accordance with the phases of the moon, the cosiness, a piece of home.
In the evenings the sound of crickets rocks you into a recuperating sleep. Beforehand, look upwards to the night sky in our four-poster bed. The stars shine just for you, the sky is even clearer at our place - did you notice already? Visit us at a place which looks as though God created it by hand. Feel nature, family fun, home.

Our idyllic family farm is located in the upper Mühlviertel, amidst lush meadows and forests, right on the border with Bavaria. No one will bother you on your holiday - so you can leave your worries behind and enjoy the heavenly silence - broken only by the birds singing and the chirping of crickets.
Whether you spend your day relaxing under the pear tree or actively, with a hike in the woods - where you can find delicious blueberries for home cooked jam - or whether you choose the recreation centre at Ranna swimming lake with pedal boating and water slides is up to you.
The children enjoy life at the farm at least as much and many let their parents go out on a day trip while they stay here with us - after all, there's always plenty to do and they want to ride on the tractor too. Just like Mum and Dad do....
And after you have helped out in the evening in the busy barn, you can collect fresh milk for breakfast.
Somewhere under the starry sky, the day ends with a romantic campfire at bedtime, and one can look forward to tomorrow especially if the chirping of the birds is to be taken as a harbinger of sweet dreams.
