Kremstal circuit - nature, culture & enjoyment on one tour
The approx. 89 km long Kremstal circuit will delight cyclists of all types, whether gravel bike, e-bike or MTB. The tour starts from the urban charm of Wels' town square and takes you through the picturesque Steinhauser Au, past Sattledt, to the impressive baroque monastery in Kremsmünster, home to the world-famous Tassilo chalice.
Charming rest stops along the route invite you to relax. Why not take a break at Gasthof Schicklberg for a hearty lunch or linger over coffee and cake at the idyllic Gasthaus Mayr in Pucking? From there, the route continues relaxed along the Traun until you finally reach the lively town square of Wels again.
A particular highlight of the route is the flexibility it offers: You can start anywhere, be it from one of the many cozy villages or directly from the train stations along the route. For those who want to shorten the tour a little, there is the option of turning off onto the R12 Voralpenradweg at the Schacherteichen in Kremsmünster and returning directly to Wels.
This tour is ideal for e-bikers, gravel bike enthusiasts and mountain bikers who love the challenge of rolling hills. The 580-metre ascent reveals the diversity of the Upper Austrian landscape in all its glory. An experience that not only makes the sporty heart beat faster, but also inspires the mind and lets the soul dangle.
The R501 - Welser Kremstalrunde is more than just a bike tour - it is an experience that combines city, culture, nature and culinary delights in a unique way.
