A benefit concert by the Linz Jeunesse Choir for the Mariendom Linz

The Linz Jeunesse Choir, one of the leading local vocal ensembles and "Upper Austrian Choir of the Year 2023", embarks on a musical journey through Europe in this program specially conceived for the Mariendom. Anton Bruckner's great motets enter into an interesting dialog with sonorous choral music from Germany, England and Scandinavia, with a stylistic diversity ranging from the 19th century to the present day.
Especially in the upwardly striving architecture and the wonderful sound space of the neo-Gothic Mariendom, the program promises a special effect with pieces that praise the Queen of Heaven Mary or focus on the hope of heavenly paradise, among other things, and allows the audience to immerse themselves in heavenly spheres. As an "ascetic" contrast to the polyphonic sonority of the choral music, works for oboe solo enrich the musical diversity. Visitors can look forward to works by Anton Bruckner, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Charles Villiers Stanford, Gabriel Jackson, Cecilia McDowall, Ola Gjeilo, Sven-David Sandström and others.
