2 grandiose divas, 2 great voices, 2 strong women.

Who doesn't know her: Barbra Streisand. Icon of show business. Role model for many artists. Producer, director, screenwriter, actress,  songwriter and gifted singer.

Maya Hakvoort, the grande dame of musicals, has always found inspiration in the life and songs of Barbra Streisand and is now taking her audience on a very personal musical journey this evening: "I will interpret these wonderful songs with the same level of dedication and perfectionism that she herself shows in her music and at the same time I will bring my own style and emotions to give the songs my personal touch."

In spring 2024, this exciting, entertaining evening with a lot of depth celebrated its acclaimed premiere in the completely sold-out Vienna Konzerthaus and will now also come to the Musiktheater in Linz in May 2025.

The evening will be musically accompanied by their band and the string ensemble of the young philharmonic orchestra. The musical director is Jeff Frohner.

Maya Hakvoort also invites guests to this intimate and at the same time truly grand evening - with them she immerses herself in the fabulous world of Barbra Streisand. The production is directed by Ramesh Nair.

Maya Hakvoort, born in Holland, trained at the Maastricht Conservatory at the cabaret academy and drama school "De Trap" in Amsterdam. She celebrated her breakthrough in Austria in 1994 as "Elisabeth" in the musical of the same name, which she performed over 1000 times in Vienna, Trieste, Osaka, Tokyo and in front of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna.

She has played numerous leading roles in productions such as Chicago, Les Misérables, Gaudí, Catharine, Blood Brothers, Aspects of Love, The Three Musketeers, Jekyll & Hyde, Evita, High Society, Kiss me Kate, Victor/Victoria, Rebecca, Love Never Dies, Sunset Boulevard, Cats, Next to Normal, Don Camillo & Peppone, Little Me, Carrie, Heidi, Anatevka, Into the Woods, Cabaret and in 2024 in Sunset Boulevard at the Landestheater in Innsbruck.

Since 2004, she has been producing her solo programmes, the concert series "4Voices of Musical" and her musical productions Next to Normal, Blutsbrüder and Into the Woods with her company MHMP. She is currently also touring with the concerts "The Music of Bond", "4Voices of Musical", "Honoring Barbra Streisand" and "Maya Hakvoort - unplugged".

In May 2024, she took on the title role in the world premiere of Lady M. in Shanghai, where she will also be delighting her Asian fan base at gala concerts in the near future.

Maya Hakvoort was awarded the Golden Medal of Merit of the Republic of Austria, the Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the Federal State of Lower Austria and the Golden Town Hall Man of the City of Vienna and was also awarded the Austrian Medal of Honour for Services to the City of Vienna. She also received the Austrian Music Theatre Prize 2023 for "Best Musical Performance".
