The Magic Flute

Mozart's The Magic Flute is an extraordinary stroke of genius. Unlike almost any other opera, the music and text combine to form such an irresistible unity and are able not only to inspire audiences for centuries, but also to cast a spell over people of all ages. Which is hardly surprising, as the adventure that makes Tamino and Papageno friends is an incredibly exciting one. For noble reasons, the two set off to rescue the kidnapped Princess Pamina, but soon realise that the Queen of the Night is merely using them to put an end to her adversary Sarastro.

Director François De Carpentries continues his successful cycle of Mozart operas with this production and invites us to immerse ourselves in that imaginative world that tells so poetically of courage, truth, wisdom and love.
