S12 Reichenthal Loop

The S12 Reichenthal Loop starts in the center of Reichenthal and initially follows quiet side roads through the gently rolling hills of the eastern Mühlviertel. The route winds through the hills around Heidenstein and Polzendorf, where riders are treated to repeated beautiful views of the expansive cultivated landscape and the forested hills of the region.

The tour then continues northward through the rural surroundings, passing through the villages of Büchberg and Steinbauerberg. Riding past typical Mühlviertel farms and meadows, cyclists reach the scenic ridges northwest of Reichenthal. The varied route combines open countryside with peaceful forest sections.

In the western part of the loop, the route runs through the area around the Fuchsbauerberg and then heads back south. Via roads with little traffic and gentle descents, cyclists reach the area around Vorderkönigschlag and Schenkenfelden, where the characteristic landscape of the Mühlviertel really comes into its own.

The return trip leads back to Reichenthal via the southern hills. Along the way, forest sections, meadows, and scenic stretches alternate, offering a varied experience of nature. This loop is particularly well-suited for leisure cyclists who want to enjoy the tranquility, open spaces, and unspoiled nature of the Mühlviertel.
