S11 Oberneukirchen-Waxenberg Loop

The S11 Oberneukirchen-Waxenberg Loop follows varied trails through the gently rolling hills of the Mühlviertel region and connects the market town of Oberneukirchen with the historic village of Waxenberg. The starting point of the loop is the center of Oberneukirchen.

From there, the route initially heads toward Zwettl an der Rodl and through the peaceful countryside around Schauerleithen and Innenschlag. Gentle climbs and sweeping views of meadows, fields, and forested ridges characterize this first section of the tour. The route then leads back northward along roads with little traffic and scenic plateaus.

Further along, cyclists reach the area around Ameschlag and Kleintraberg. Here, the Mühlviertel reveals its most beautiful side: varied wooded areas, traditional farms, and impressive views make for a special experience of nature. Passing through Waxenberg with its striking castle ruins, the route continues through the idyllic cultural landscape of the Rodl Valley.
