Located directly at the Großdöllnerhof open-air museum, this educational trail provides an overview of the geology of Upper Austria. The various types of rock from all the landscapes of Upper Austria, from the Mühlviertel in the north to the foothills of the Alps and the Flysch Mountains and Limestone Alps, are presented on the circular trail. The stones are labeled and color-coded according to the four major geological units (information board at the start of the trail). Together with mascot WOLLI, immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the formation of our landscape, which goes back 350 million years, and find out what the "remnants" in the nature park are all about. At the "stone seesaw" adventure station, visitors of all ages can weigh their own body weight with stones.
Since 2025, the newly published brochure "Steinlehrpfad Rechberg" has been available to accompany thetrail, which contains extensive background information on the geology and the exhibited rocks of Upper Austria. The brochure can be taken from a box directly at the stone nature trail. Please get in touch for more information.
