The tour was developed as part of an Interreg project between Bavaria and Austria.
You start at the Rosenberger Gut and as soon as you have settled in, the first great moment of enjoyment awaits: the Gut Riedelsbach, Germany's first beer and wellness hotel with its own brewery, three qualified beer sommeliers and around one hundred international beers.
Then you are drawn higher, northwards, towards the main ridge. The border crossing to Sumava National Park is close by, but you leave it to the left. Your destination is higher up: the Hufberg viewing point near the highest mountain in the Mühlviertel, the Plöckenstein, at 1379 meters. At the top of the viewing point, the three-country view of Bavaria, Austria and the Czech Republic lies before you.
On the descent, you can stop off three times: first at Gasthof Dreiländereck high above the valley, then at Restaurant Auszeit in Lackenhäuser and finally at Gut Riedelsbach. One last turn - and you're back at the Rosenberger Gut.
