Kinderwanderung zur Kolomanskirche

A more challenging children’s hike from Hochserner on the Irrsee up to the Kolomansberg, with an elevation gain of around 380 metres and a walking time of approximately 2.5 hours at a child-friendly pace. At the top, the open spaces offer an impressive panoramic view over Mondsee and Irrsee. The Kolomanskirche, considered to be Austria’s oldest wooden church, is one of the special places of spiritual energy in the Mondseeland region.

A varied walk suitable for experienced or older children. The lower section follows shaded footpaths and forest tracks through the woods; it is a little steeper in places, but easily manageable. In the upper section, it is considerably sunnier due to the open spaces, as it is around the summit and Koloman’s Church, offering impressive views.

A special experience for children is the Kolomans Bründl, the healing spring attributed to Saint Koloman. The ringing of the church bells, which can be heard far beyond the summit, also makes for a memorable experience.

St Koloman’s Church is considered the oldest wooden church in Austria and is one of the special places of spiritual energy in the Mondsee region.
