Weitra Coffee Ride | Karlingerhaus

Off to the north, off to Weitra! Cultural city, beer city and the city where the legendary RAN (Race Around Niederöstereich) starts. Especially on this wonderful tour, one of THE favorite tours of many bike locals, you will fall for the rough and unagitated charm of the Waldviertel. Every turn of the cranks takes you a little further away from everyday life and any supposed problems dissolve into Waldviertel air. Dense forests and wide fields characterize the landscape - here you can't believe that Austria has a population density of approx. 110 people/km2. If you still have any problems, you can shout them out without hesitation - nobody will mind. After approx. 70 km, you will hopefully arrive in Weitra completely relaxed - with or without lactate-soaked calves. Here you absolutely must stop off at one of the restaurants or coffee houses in the beautiful town square. After a relaxing break, continue back towards the Mühlviertel. Mostly on side roads, you can focus entirely on yourself and your bike and you will hardly notice that you are heading uphill to the roof of the Mühlviertler Alm - Liebenau. This is where a 15 km long descent begins, with a perfect gradient just waiting to be really attacked! The last section is a typical saw blade profile back to Königswiesen. Once you arrive in Königswiesen, you won't know how many short climbs your engines had to push away to get to 1870 m elevation gain.
