Ski tour Weyer/Kastentreith - Burgspitz

Description:
Only in high winter and in good snow conditions do you have to climb up through the high forest in places. Otherwise there are no major difficulties.

From the chapel, you first follow the forest road north past the Spießkogel and then along the edge of the forest. The trail then leads uphill through the high forest until you can ascend to the summit of the Burgspitz in open terrain. For the descent, you cross the ascent trail several times and finally take the forest road back to the starting point.

Directions:
From the chapel at 410 m, walk past the farm across the meadow to the forest road at 490 m. Follow this road to the left and take a shortcut until you have almost circumnavigated the Spießkogel. Then turn left off the forest road and walk along the edge of the forest to the high forest. There the trail climbs steeply - there must be enough snow - until you reach a plateau at an altitude of 985 meters. At 1,090 meters you reach the end of the forest road at a pole and a hunting lodge. From 1,170 m, the open terrain and the summit slope begins, with some magnificent beech trees. If you keep to the left, you will reach the Burgspitz (1429 m) with its summit cross via the meadow slope.Safety guidelines:
