Description:

Starting from Wolfsgruberau, the hike leads east along freight roads and over gentle ridges back to the starting point.

Directions:

From the Wolfsgruberau parking lot, you first hike downhill to the next crossroads in the direction of the Wolfsgrub farm. From there, follow the little-used goods road to the right. The path runs past several farmhouses before reaching a larger fork in the path. Keep right here too and continue along the path until you have passed two more farmhouses. After the last house, a forest road branches off to the right in the direction of Himmelschaukel.

Follow this for only a short distance, then a path branches off to the right along the edge of a forest. This leads directly to the Himmelschaukel, which offers an ideal place for a short rest with a beautiful view.

From there, the way back runs in a south-easterly direction across meadows and through shady woodland along the Sonnberg and Willeitenberg mountains. The trail follows pleasant paths and freight roads until you finally reach the starting point again at the Wolfsgruberau parking lot.

Tip:

A visit to the Himmelschaukel is particularly worthwhile on a clear day - the view into the valley and over the surrounding hills is then especially impressive. If you like, you can take a blanket with you and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere a little longer.

There is a cider hut with drinks on the Sonnberg.

You can stop for refreshments at Gasthaus Geiger in Laussa.
