Description:

At the train station, the Almkogel hiking trail no. 492 leads past the Kronstein farm, along a forest path to a saddle, over a high moor to the Brennhöhe and steeply uphill to the Rotstein. For the way back, head back to the starting point via the Lumplgraben.

Directions:

The hike starts at Großraming train station and follows the Almkogel hiking trail no. 492, past the Kronstein farm and along a forest path to a saddle. From there, the trail continues over a high moor to Brennhöhe. Here you can either shorten the tour in the direction of the former Pension Stangl or climb to the summit of the Rotstein. About 100 meters after a gate, the path branches off to the right and leads steeply uphill. Once at the top, there is a beautiful view of Großraming and the Hintergebirge mountains. The descent is via the front of the Rotstein down to Pension Stangl. From there you return to the station.
