Description:

A loop that leads from the indoor swimming pool in Losenstein mainly along meadow and forest paths. Along the way, views of Losenstein and the castle, the gently rolling hills and the mountains of the Hintergebirge invite you to linger.

Directions:

From the parking lot of the indoor swimming pool in Losenstein, take a few steps up to the Landjugendhaus. Keep left at the crossroads and follow the slightly ascending, asphalted road for around ten minutes up to the Riegl farm. There the road bends to the right. Here the hiking trail E74/4 branches off to the right in the direction of Hutterberg - Fatimakapelle via Ramlerhöhe. The path leads steadily uphill along a meadow path.

After a short walk, you reach another farm. From there, the trail continues for a few meters on an asphalt road until a forest road branches off to the left uphill at the next farm. Follow this forest road past a transmitter until you reach a house just below the Mostbrunnen fountain. From here, the final ascent begins: a meadow path leads up to the right to the cross of lights and the Mostbrunnen fountain.

The trail then descends to the Fatima Chapel. The route first crosses the meadow and a short forest path, which finally meets the forest road again. Follow this road downhill to the right until you reach a crossroads where the forest road turns right and leads back to Losenstein. There you can make a short detour to the Fatima Chapel. Then follow the forest road until you reach an asphalt road and turn left. It leads past several farms and pastures and finally enters a wooded area. At the end of the forest, a tractor path branches off to the left, which can be used to shorten the descent slightly. It rejoins the road above the Landjugendhaus. Follow this road to the steps down to the starting point.

Tip:

A detour to the Fatima Chapel and possibly also to the castle ruins on the way home.

At the indoor swimming pool in Losenstein, you can stop off at the indoor swimming pool restaurant and take a swim.

You can also stop off at the Gasthaus Marxrieser.
