The Hansbergland-Nordrunde is a varied and scenic tour through the far north of the Mühlviertel region, with gentle hills, deep valleys and impressive views as far as the Dachstein.
The far north lives up to its name: starting from St. Johann am Wimberg, you ride past the former Sagmühle and Krenmühle mills to St. Peter am Wimberg. From St. Peter am Wimberg, you ride down to the Große Mühl mill. Through the villages of Hollerberg and Kasten up to St. Stefan am Walde. From one of the highest points in Granitland, you have a magnificent view over the whole country, all the way to the Dachstein. Continue along the Nordwaldkammweg to Guglwald, Piberstein, down to the Steinerne Mühl and back up to the Wimberg ridge. Via the villages of Penning, Grubdorf and past the Bründl Chapel, the route leads up to the Hansberg (850 m) and back to the starting point in St. Johann am Wimberg. Please get in touch for more information.
