R203 Discovery cycle tour (panoramic variant-German side)

Starting place: 5280 Braunau am Inn
Destination: 5280 Braunau am Inn

The Entdeckerviertel is cross-border and connects Austria and Germany along the Salzach and Inn rivers. This alternative route runs from Tittmoning via Burghausen to Simbach.

The 180-kilometer loop can be comfortably cycled in three to four days. Depending on your mood. This is because the region only has a few gentle climbs. The multi-day tour is characterized by views, nature, culture and culinary delights.

You start the tour in the home of the famous Christmas carol "Silent Night" and experience highlights on both the Bavarian and Austrian side of the Salzach and Inn rivers, such as the world's longest castle in Burghausen or the largest contiguous moor landscape in Austria, the Ibmer Moor. Long-distance views from various viewing platforms included!

Around 90% of the route is on asphalt paths, the rest on wide, paved gravel paths. Around 70% of the route is on secondary roads.
