Description:

The start and end of the route is the village square of Ternberg. From the village square, the path leads up to Herndleck and via the Riegler farm, Steinbachstraße, and Bäckengraben back down to the finishing point at the village square.

Directions:

The path is marked with information boards and Rural Youth symbols. The hiking trail offers the opportunity to get to know the main focuses of the Rural Youth work. On four large boards, there are descriptions of the focuses and QR codes leading to short promotional videos. These videos show images related to the topic from the past 40 years.

From the village square, you cross the village bridge to the Glockersteg near the train station. Then it continues to the farm of the Dorfner family, known as Gschlössl. Afterwards, you follow the Herndleckstraße for a short distance until a signpost on the left roadside points to a shortcut through the forest. You emerge at the weather cross, where the first sign with a QR code is located.

Continue through the forest to the parking lot at Herndleck. There, you follow the road to the old ski lift. Then it goes steeply uphill along the forest edge to the former starting house. To the left is the Herndleck cross at an altitude of 1026 m. Behind the starting house, the path leads several hundred meters through the forest to the Devil's Church, which lies at an altitude of 1080 m.

Now the path leads down through the forest to the pasture areas. Past the wooden barn is the next board with a QR code. To the left, the path continues through the forest to the forest road, which leads downhill through the forest to the Riegler farm. Then continue on Steinbachstraße to the Auer family, known as Schned, where the third board with the QR code is located right next to the road.

Then continue on the road to the Zeilermayr chapel next to the fire station Schttleiten. There you find the fourth board with a QR code. Past the chapel, you go across meadows and forest down to the farm of the Etlinger family, known as Laimer. Past the dog school, you reach the Kopf gas station, where the last 100 meters of elevation are covered.

Pfarrkirche Ternberg

Das Alter der Kirche läßt sich nicht genau bestimmen, aber es ist doch gewiß, dass diese schon im 12. Jahrundert existierte, weil in der Schenkungsurkunde Otakars II. an das Stift Garsten, eine St. Veits-Kirche zu Ternberg erwähnt wird.

Im Jahr 1557 wurde die Kirche zu ihrer jetzigen Höhe ausgebaut. Der Turm stammt aus dem Jahr 1752. Der Hochaltar ist von 1688 vom Bildhauer Marian Rittinger.

Die Innenrenovierung der Kirche wurde gestaltet vom Künstler Leo Zogmayer. Im Jahr 2009, zum 700 Jahr Jubiläum, ist die neu renovierte Kirche von Bischof Aichern geweiht worden.
