The start is at the Kienklause parking lot, and it starts right away. The trail starts on a steep section of forest road. However, this soon flattens out and it is easy to get going before the path leads into a stream bed, which again requires a little more attention.
You then briefly return to a forest road before it finally becomes stonier and the single trail works its way up the mountain in a few steep hairpin bends. You can always catch a glimpse over your shoulder of Lake Attersee or the imposing rock formations of the Höllengebirge. A particularly pleasant surprise, especially on hot days, awaits the trail runner in the form of the Antoniusbründl. The fresh spring water here tastes particularly good after the meters of altitude you have covered and you can replenish your supplies. You reach the high plateau and get an idea of the vastness of the Höllengebirge. The Hochleckenhaus is really beautifully situated here! In the distance, you can still see the remnants of snow on the Gosaukamm. Just as refreshing are the delicious food and drinks at the house. Strengthened, we now return the same way. If you want to make another loop out of it, you have to plan well and could then also go down to the Taferklause or even further from there with a little ascent to the Langbath lakes. However, the extremely steep and dangerous Schafluckensteig trail is not recommended.
