The start is at the car park Kienklause, and right from the beginning. It starts with a steep section of forestry road. However, this soon flattens out and you can easily find your pace before the path leads into a stream bed, which requires a little more attention.
Shortly afterwards, you return to a forestry road before it finally gets rockier and the single trail climbs the mountain in several steep switchbacks. From time to time you can cast a glance over your shoulder at the Attersee or the impressive rock formations of the Höllengebirge. A particularly pleasant surprise, especially on hot days, awaits the trail runner in the form of the Antoniusbründl. After the gained altitude, the fresh spring water tastes especially good here and supplies can be replenished. You reach the high plateau and get an impression of the vastness of the Höllengebirge. The Hochleckenhaus is really beautifully situated here! In the distance, you can still see the snow remnants in the Gosaukamm. Equally refreshing are the delicious food and drinks at the house. Refreshed, you now return the same way. Those who want to make another round must plan well and could then also go down to the Taferklause or even from there further with some ascent to the Langbath lakes. What is not recommended, however, is the extremely steep and not safe Schafluckensteig.
