The hike begins in the center of Gurten. From here, you follow the path upstream along the Gurtenbach stream, which meanders through the countryside. The stream offers numerous opportunities to pause along the way and enjoy the tranquillity and rippling of the water.

After a relaxing section along the stream, you reach the railroad tracks that run parallel to the route. Here the trail leads you back towards the center of Gurten.
