Just in time for summer 2026, a new excursion destination awaits families on the Hochficht: the Hochficht Ghost Trail.

Join the little ghosts on their adventure and discover the story in the Stifti book "Two little ghosts and a promise". The loving illustrations were created by the children of the Klaffer am Hochficht elementary school and give the story a very special charm.

The Hochficht-Geister-Weg trail is around 3.5 kilometers long and starts at the Gasthaus Zum Überleben am Hochficht. This pram-friendly circular trail leads through the impressive nature of the Bohemian Forest and invites families on a varied journey of discovery.

Along the way, children learn about the forest, local animals, the mountain world and many exciting secrets of nature. Numerous puzzles and tasks ensure that experiencing, learning, sensing and discovering are combined in a playful way.

Let's go, dear young and old explorers! Join the Hochficht ghosts on their adventure and explore the fascinating nature around the Hochficht. Those who successfully solve all the puzzles and tasks can look forward to a small reward at the end.

Note on how to get there: From the Hochficht ski area parking lot, an unpaved forest road runs for the last 1.5 kilometers to the 'Zum Überleben' inn.
