Brigitte Schwaiger Literature Trail - Barrier-free

The Brigitte Schwaiger Literature Trail is dedicated to the work of Freistadt's best-known daughter. The barrier-free 2.1 km long path leads through Freistadt's old town to ten places that were of great importance in Brigitte Schwaiger's life. Here, the author's extensive work is made visible and audible: quotes from her books, letters, interviews and many listening options invite you to pause and read on. 

Brigitte Schwaiger (1949-2010), a native of Freistadt, is considered one of the most important literary figures of the 1970/80s in the German-speaking world. To make the significance of her work visible, the Brigitte Schwaiger Society, with the support of the municipality and numerous sponsors, has established a literature trail in Freistadt.
