Cycle from organic farm to organic farm

Immerse yourself in the colourful abundance of organic farming, enjoy the smell of fresh hay, take a dip in the clean lake & taste organic products from the region - you can experience all this and much more on our varied organic cycle tour through the organic hay region.

The organic cycle tour in the Mondsee-Irrsee region
Parking spaces are available at the car park in the centre or at the Mondsee lake promenade. Real organic cyclists, however, travel by public transport. The bus takes you to the bus terminal in Mondsee and from there directly to the tour or to the bike hire centre. The starting point of the cycle tour is "Marias Biotreff" in the centre of Mondsee. A good opportunity to stock up on provisions before the start or to fortify yourself with a hearty organic breakfast. The route begins with a short section through the centre of Mondsee before the section with the steepest incline starts in the direction of Irrsee. In the municipality of Tiefgraben, there are two organic farms waiting to be discovered. Firstly, you come to the Hingerer organic farm cheese dairy, where a guided tour of the cheese dairy followed by a cheese tasting is available by prior arrangement for groups of 10 or more. Want to cool off? The Tiefgraben bathing area on the southern shore of the Irrsee lies along the route. Continue to the Mondseeland organic beekeeping shop - a must for those with a sweet tooth. You then cycle down towards St. Lorenz, where the landscape is characterised by herb-rich meadows and the imposing Drachenwand. At the next stop at the Aubauer organic farm, you can watch the contented cows graze comfortably on the pasture from March until the first snow. The self-service vending machine at the farm invites you to take a short break. The farm's own produce and regional products are available around the clock to enjoy and take away. The cycle route now takes you directly along the Drachenwand, where a short stop at the 19th century Wistaudermühle mill is worthwhile. You now turn your back on the Drachenwand and cycle along the lake back to the starting point. After a short ride through the beautiful centre of Mondsee with its historic market square, the tour ends at Maria's Biotreff. By now you will have earned a quick dip in the lake or can enjoy a picnic by the lake with the many organic products from the region collected on the tour.
