Description:

Starting from the Rieserberg car park, the hiking trail leads to the weather cross and then on a forest road and a forest path via switchbacks over the mountain ridge to the Grünburger Hut.

Directions:

From the Rieserberg car park between Steinbach/Steyr and Molln, follow forest path no. 480 to the weather cross. Continue on a forest road to a large meadow and then on a forest path via switchbacks up the mountain to the ridge and the Grünburger Hut.

The Grünburger Hut invites you to enjoy a beautiful view over the foothills of the Alps.

Popular but steep ascent to the Grünburger Hut, sturdy footwear is therefore recommended.

Children are accompanied by small signboards, making the ascent much easier.

Tip:

A detour to the summit of the Hochbuchberg (1272 m) is recommended.
From the Grünburger Hut follow trail 404/409 to Sulzboden. From there, take trail no. 24 to the summit cross of the Hochbuchberg. (30 minutes from the Grünburger Hut)

Safety guidelines:

Adjust your routes according to the current weather and avalanche reports and act according to seasonal dangers in the (alpine) terrain.

Hiking boots, gaiters, warm weatherproof winter clothing, hiking poles, some provisions, warm drink

For the steeper sections, carrying crampons is recommended
