The name Ohlsdorf is closely associated with Thomas Bernhard´s, and it is fair to say that Bernhard transformed this region into a specific literary landscape in his story collections and dramas.
On the circular path through the municipal area of Ohlsdorf, built for the 2008 provincial exhibition, one can experience while walking the landscape in which Thomas Bernhard settled more than 40 years ago and which he never left again until his death in 1989. Significant quotations from Bernhard´s work are exhibited at 15 stations - usually on an artificial object modeled on a central piece of Bernhard furniture, the "ear chair" of the critical observer. We recommend travelling by public transport!
