A tour through the Hausruckwald forest with a great view of the surrounding rolling hills. Start at Hausruckhof heading north-east, straight through the small wood and past the houses. At the Ampflwanger Feld (billboard), cross the B143 road and ride towards the sports field (beware that the path is rather muddy and deep when it rains a lot). At the sports ground, take the right-hand path in the municipal wood, which is also part of the Tannenschlagweg. At Sommergattenfeld, you ride along the edge of the forest and have a wonderful view of Wassenbach. When the Tannenschlagweg trail leads back into the forest in a north-westerly direction, keep to the right of it and after a short time cross the B143 again(beware, it is difficult for motorists to see, listen carefully and/or ride down the road a little so that you are more visible).
Now you ride in an arc through the forest to Sommerholz with beautiful stretches for tölt, trot or canter. In Sommerholz, ride past a house on the right and a garden on the left and immediately turn left again into the forest (before the pool).
Continue in an arc towards the north-east in the forest, slightly uphill and then downhill again, until you reach the edge of Wassenbach.
When you come out of the forest, take time to look out over the meadows and woods before turning left into the hairpin bend. There is a small hut there that is run by a shepherd in summer and the route climbs slightly. During the grazing season, please ride slowly past the sheep so as not to frighten them.
Ascent with a hollow path, through the forest to the Ochsenzungen, then continue towards Sünden, Wolfsegger Feld on the left, Eckleiten on the right. As far as Schabl, you are now on the 100 metre hiking trail, the Ampflwanger Rundweg, always in the beautiful forest with good paths for every gait.
At Schabl, the trail heads downhill in a south-westerly direction towards Schachen. Go through this small settlement and then immediately turn right onto the gravel road - a great tölt route - heading north. At the end, you pass a few houses and reach the forest path behind the waste collection centre. You will soon see the Hausruckhof again and only return to the farm on the short stretch of road at the playground.
