Description:
From the center, this route leads into the Stephaniehain and past the earth cellar there. The history of the earth cellar is described on a display panel for the interested individual guest. The path ends at the bank of the Naarn River, which you follow upstream to a quarry. A few steps further, you cross the Naarntal federal road and hike into the forest. Here the path leads to the "Edtbauer" farm, then continues on paved farm roads and finally on sidewalks into the Pasching district. Along the edge of the forest you reach and cross Münzbacher Straße. The path continues along the creek; a panel recalls the Mitterberg Castle ruins after a few hundred meters. After a short ascent through the community forest, you reach a settlement via forest roads, pass the Karlingberger estate, and return to the city center.Tip:
The "Ratgöbluckn" earth cellar is considered the longest still accessible earth cellar. It is a protected monument and can also be visited by small groups of six (6) people or more (contact Heimat- und Museumsverein Perg). On Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the Heimathaus City Museum Perg is open, where visitors can learn even more about the history of the Mitterberg Castle ruins and much about the history of the city of Perg, its geological peculiarity (sandstone for the Perg millstones, and much more);Safety guidelines:
