Description:
The Kreuzberg nature reserve is a gem in the middle of the market town of Weyer – a paradise for walking, hiking, running, enjoying fresh air and sunshine, and taking in the views.Directions:
The route starts at the Kreuzberg parking lot in Weyer and leads under the railway into the forest area of the Kreuzberg. The path winds upward in several hairpin bends and then heads crosswise toward Gasselsgraben, from where it descends to the railway promenade. The return route passes the Schmidbergerwehr along the Gaflenz creek upstream back to the parking lot.Tip:
Climate-friendly to the National Park region – Weyer train station: By train, you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 2 hours from Linz and about 2.5 hours from Vienna.Additional information:
On the way back, take a detour to the historic market square with its romantic courtyards and numerous places to stop for refreshments.
