Culinary delights with a view

The starting point is the Wurzeralm car park in Spital am Pyhrn, from where the funicular takes you up to 1,400m above sea level. Once at the top, follow hiking trail no. 218 over the Halssattel to the Dümlerhütte. The hut is sunny on the north-eastern slope of the Warscheneck and is perfect for the first culinary rest. With excellent home-style cooking such as plate meat, cheese spaetzle or apple and curd strudel, you are well fortified for the rest of the way.

After the rest, you descend along hiking trail no. 218 to the Gleinkersee lake. This enchanting, small pre-Alpine lake is the right place to take a deep breath and unwind.
The Gasthaus Seebauer is the perfect place for a culinary break. On the sunny terrace, in the shady chestnut garden or in the parlour, you can enjoy homemade hot and cold dishes - from home cooking to vegetarian dishes - all day long. Only the best products are used in the pots and on the plates.  Only regional and certified organic food is cooked. In the in-house organic butchery, master butcher Heinz Schmeissl produces bacon, ham and a wide variety of sausages. Particularly famous at Seebauer is the crispy Gleinkersau roast from organic pork. Of course, there is also coffee and delicious pastries made according to old recipes, such as the daily freshly prepared Riesenbuchtel with vanilla sauce.
