Description:
The circular trail begins at the market square in St. Martin i.M. Near the school you`ll find the bee information centre, built in the shape of a honeycomb. Several short films show phases in the life of honeybees, wild bees and insects. In the beehive made of glass, the honey collectors can be safely observed. After the village of Kobling, you`ll find the show bee hut at the forest edge. Now the trail follows the stream in the forest (great waterwheel). After crossing, continue uphill on the forest and meadow path. At Premserhügel rest area you`ll find some benches - again built in honeycomb shape. Here you can enjoy superb views of the Bohemian Forest all the ways to the Alps. The name of well-known mountain peaks is described on the panorama board. The mascot`s name is Carni. Tells amazing facts about bees. It tells us in exciting terms what the bees`body looks like, where they live, what they look like in the beehive and what they do in winter. Carni explains the dance of the bees.
