Engelhartszeller Danube World Hike

Description:
The circular route starts at the "Water Experience Mini-Danube". Via Stiftstrasse it goes to the Danube, along the Danube path on the left, past the "Danube Square" and the flood tree to the ferry house. From here a Danube trail leads to Fallauerbach, past the outdoor pool, to the Roman milestone and to the Jochenstein Danube power plant. (Tip: Exhibition "Energy Experience Jochenstein" and "House on the River"). Then it goes uphill on the Austrian side, past Bernhard's restaurant, into the forest. After about 500 meters, continue left on the forest path. Turn left down Fallaustraße, right into Siedlungsstraße, further to the "Schütz Museum Engelhartszell". Then through Marktstraße past the Imperial toll house to the exhibition "Danube Stories" with Natura 2000 info point and adventure playground "Danube Game". Along Nibelungenstraße, past the farrier museum to Stiftsstraße, to Engelszell Abbey and to the "Water Experience Mini-Danube" with sensory garden and large aquarium "Giant of the Danube".Tip:
Opposite the "Überführhäusl" on the northern Danube side is the southwesternmost point reached by Soviet troops. Here, the ferry "Donaunixe ISA" brings cyclists and hikers from one shore to the other.Safety guidelines:
