The 1.2 km long hiking trail leads from the family excursion destination Coal Station Scheiben in Geboltskirchen along the former coal railway line to the Trattnach source. On the stroller and handicapped accessible flat route in the Hausruckwald, visitors can expect an encounter with water as the elixir of life and as a physical quantity. Many exciting refinements, such as a water wheel, a spiral funnel or the largest "leaf" in the Hausruckwald, have been built along the nature discovery trail. A bird recognition path with 14 stations accompanies the trail to the source of our district river. There, at the water playground, one also meets the mascot "Trattino" the fire salamander. As part of a competition, all elementary schools along the Trattnach River were asked to suggest names for the 2.5m tall water-spitting salamander. From 450 entries, the suggestion of Benjamin Karl from Schlüsslberg was selected and carved on the back of the salamander.Freely accessible at any time
