Theuerwanger Forest Bike Trail - MTB Route
Find peace and relaxation on the designated bike trail through the Theuerwanger Forest!
The bike path runs along the forest road through the Theuerwanger Forest. The route begins at the intersection of Pettenbacherstraße and Theuerwang , across from Schauflinger’s Gasthaus Theuerwang. There is also a parking lot along Pettenbacherstraße at this location.
Via the forest road, you’ll ride through the peaceful forest to the market town of Pettenbach. From Eggensteinerstraße, there are various options for connecting to other cycling routes, such as the R13 Traunviertel Cycle Path toward Pettenbach or toward Kirchham/Laakirchen; where you’ll also find yourself on the 3rd stage of the Traunviertel Tour. You can also reach the R11 Almtal Bike Trail toward Almsee or toward Wels.

We ask that you behave respectfully toward nature and other forest users. Please observe the “Fair Play” rules for responsible and safe coexistence on the new bike path through the Theuerwanger Forest.

In principle, the route is open all year round, driving is prohibited on snowy roads!
No snow removal!
Night rides may be fun, but the trend is a disaster for nature and animals. So: leave the forest to the hunting prescribed by law in Austria at dusk and to the animals at night!
We recommend arriving by public transport!

Next Intercity stop Wels Hbf (ÖBB and Westbahn), change to the regional express trains to Lambach, change to the "Vorchdorferbahn" from Lambach to Vorchdorf Eggenberg (Stern & Hafferl)
Or with the Traunseetram from Gmunden to Vorchdorf Eggenberg (Stern & Hafferl)

Motorway A1 Westautobahn Vienna <> Salzburg Exit 207 Vorchdorf exit - Vorchdorf bypass in the direction of Pettenbach - Fischböckau district - after the place name sign on the mountain there is a parking lot on the right.
