Über den Brandsteig auf den Gahberg und über den Miglberg und das Horn zurück

An entertaining hike up two mountains with panoramic views and the opportunity to stop off at the Schöberingerhof inn on the Miglberg

The hike begins at the parking lot next to the volunteer fire department / musicians’ clubhouse. From there, the route follows the sidewalk along the main street for about 450 meters to the Hemesberger Nursery.

There, the trail branches off to the right onto Plötzingerweg and follows the signs via the Brandsteig up to the Gahberg. The Brandsteig leads steeply uphill to the Brand estate. Along the way, there are plenty of beautiful spots to stop and rest.

Once you reach the top of the Gahberg, the trail continues along an almost flat road to the observatory. Behind the Gahberg Chapel, you can take a detour to the Weyregger recreation meadow with its rocking chairs. From there, a beautiful mountain panorama opens up, offering a view of Lake Attersee.

The route then continues along Gahbergstraße toward Schaffling. Passing through the village and across the alpine pastures on the Miglberg, it continues to the Schöberingerhof inn, where you can stop for a break.

From the Schöberingerhof, the trail follows the road downhill for a short distance, past a few houses, until it reaches the turnoff toward Horn / Weyregg. At first, the route winds beautifully through alpine meadows; later, it descends through a beech forest to Bachstraße.

There is another place to stop for refreshments at the Bachtaverne. From here, the trail either follows the sidewalk along the road back to the starting point or turns left up the Stegbühel via 169 steps and then through the village of Kirchendorf back to the parking lot.
