Via Maria - 9th daily stage from Ebensee to Grünau im Almtal, district Habernau

Pilgrimage on long-distance alpine hiking trails from Altötting to Mariazell

From the center of the village of Ebensee (447 m) we walk the long-distance hiking trail 06 (04) via the Rindbach district into the Rindbachtal and further along the Lochbach to the Fahrnau forest house. Continue to the lake "Offensee" (655 m) and steeply uphill over the high path (up to 1,029 m) to the Gschirrhütte and on to the Zwieseleck. From there you can go either left through the Weißeneggbachtal to Schwarzenbrunn or right over the Möserberg to the Gasthof Deutsches Haus on the south bank of the Almsee and along the lake to Schwarzenbrunn.
From Schwarzenbrunn along the Alm to the district Habernau of Grünau im Almtal (577 m).

From Ebensee max. 2¼ hours to the Fahrnau hunting lodge, another 1 hour to Offensee, an hour to the high path and another hour to the Weißenegghütte hunting lodge, approx. 3 hours to the Deutsches Haus am Almsee or directly 3¼ hours to Habernau.
From Ebensee to Offensee approx. 3½ hours at least another 5 hours to Habernau (Deutsches Haus)

Overnight stay / stop:
at the Offensee: Jausenstation Seeau (only gastronomy with suitable weather)
at the Almsee: Gasthof Seehaus (gastronomy only), Deutsches Haus (overnight stay only)
in the Habernau: Jagersimmerl (gastronomy is only possible as part of an overnight stay)

Sights: Natural monument Rindbach waterfall, Gassel stalactite cave, Salzkammergut happiness places on Lake Offensee and at the Weißenegghütte on the high path;
in the Almtal: nature preserve area lake Almsee, Cumberland Wildlife Park Grünau
