This demanding but very rewarding summit hike in the Höllengebirge leads to four peaks in the Höllengebirge and offers spectacular views. From the Taferklause the way goes up to the Hochleckenkogel (1691 m), on to the Brunnkogel (1708 m), then to the Mathiaskogel (1660 m) and the Jagaköpfel (1668 m). After a rest in the Hochleckenhaus you go back to the Taferlklaussee.
Get inspired now and try the 360° perspective tour!

From Taferklause, the hiking trail 827 leads towards Hochleckenhaus over forest paths and a rather steep scree field. At the signpost, branch off to path no.829 to the Hochleckenkogel. After reaching the Hochleckenkogel, the Brunnkogel is climbed after a short descent. There the 14 meter high cross towers in front of you - it is the highest summit cross in the Eastern Alps. The tour continues on route 828 towards Hochleckenhaus. The Matthiasogel is right on the way. A short detour, which takes about 10 minutes, leads to the Jagaköpfel. For the descent to the Hochleckenhaus one chooses the path 827 again and comes back to the starting point.

Alternative route: If you take the same route back from the Brunnkogel to the starting point - instead of continuing the tour to the other peaks, the walking time is reduced by approx. 40 minutes and the distance to 9.7 km.
Starting point: Taferklause
Destination: Brunnkogel
