The Vöcklatal hiking trail (no. 116) starts in the village centre and leads past the Stehrerhof open-air museum in the direction of Sonnleiten, then through the village of Redl, past theKöttl fish farm and on via Stipplmühl along the Mixentalerbach stream into the Vöcklatal to Jochling.
From the town centre, head south or east past the Stehrerhof open-air museum towards Sonnleiten and on to Redl. In Redl, turn right to the bridge over the Mixentalerbach stream. Immediately after the bridge, the path continues to the right along the Mixentalerbach, which flows into the Vöckla after several hundred metres at the so-called "Reittümpel" - a bend in the Vöckla. The Reittümpel is a popular swimming spot for young and old.
From there, the trail continues along the Vöckla to the so-called "Furtherbrücke" bridge. The path then bears slightly to the left, keeping an increasing distance from the Vöckla to Jochling. In Jochling there is a large farm which has been converted into the "Fischer Heinz" fish restaurant.
From Fisch Heinz, first head towards "Jochlingerbrücke", before the bridge turn left and after a few hundred metres you will reach the "Most Schurl" cider tavern.
You can either return to Neukirchen via the same route or go straight on at the Köttl fish farm via Mühlleiten to the starting point.
