Hike from alpine pasture to alpine pasture, immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the hospitality during the pause. The Ennser Hut, Gschwendtalm and Anlaufalm - in and around the Kalkalpen National Park - can be individually combined into multi-day hikes with summit experiences.
Day 1: Großraming – Ennser Hut - Almkogel
Day 2: Ennser Hut via Danzersteig to Gamsstein to Gschwendtalm
Day 3: Gschwendtalm – Anlaufalm
Day 4: Anlaufalm – Brunnbach

Directions:Day 1: Großraming – Ennser Hut
From Großraming train station, go through the Oberplaiß district past the Bamachergut up to the Ennser Hut. Overnight stay.
Tip as a conclusion to the first day or as a start to the second day: The Almkogel with wonderful views of the Kalkalpen National Park, Totes Gebirge, Gesäuse mountains or Rottenmann Tauern rewards the approximately half-hour ascent.
Day 2: Ennser Hut via Danzersteig to Gamsstein to Gschwendtalm
From the Ennser Hut, hike down the trail near the cable car and ascend via the Danzersteig to the summit of Gamsstein. After a panoramic view and sight reaching to the Bohemian Forest, descend to the Gschwendtalm to enjoy homemade alpine delicacies in the evening such as bread, curd cheese balls or buns, and sweet curd cheese dumplings. Overnight stay.
Day 3: Gschwendtalm – Anlaufalm
From the Gschwendtalm, descend into the Brunnbach valley. You can end the tour here or regain altitude by hiking up to the “Kreuzweg” and follow the ridge path with wonderful views into the gorges of the Kalkalpen National Park to reach the Anlaufalm. Overnight stay.
Day 4: Anlaufalm – Brunnbach
After a relaxed breakfast, you can hike back from the Anlaufalm via the Hochkogel or on trail no. 488 to the Ortbauernalm (walking time to Brunnbach approx. 2.5 hours).
