Panoramic Tour – around lake Wolfgangsee

The route around Lake Wolfgangsee is not only famous for its international running race, it is also very popular with cyclists. The shore-line cycle path, with its constant view of the lake’s crystal-clear water and the ride through the villages of St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen and Strobl round off this lovely tour. Starting from St. Wolfgang, travel along the lakeshore to the district of Ried until you reach the boat landing stage. From there, the Wolfgangsee Schifffahrt (timetable and fares at: www.5schaetze.at) will take you comfortably to Gasthof Fürberg. From Gasthof Fürberg, follow the signs to the district of Winkl and continue along the cycle path to St. Gilgen. Cycle along the shores of Lake Wolfgangsee past the village of Abersee to Strobl. From Strobl, the cycle path leads directly back to St. Wolfgang. Attention: Crossing the Falkenstein by bike is not possible!
