1st stage from Regensburg to Pfakofen

The area south of Regensburg is not without its scenic charm. Sometimes the hilly landscape offers sweeping views of the Danube plain and the Bavarian Forest, at other times the pilgrim encounters a romantic stream valley or a small forest. The stage is problematic because there is little catering and therefore few accommodation options. For this reason, the small village of Pfakofen is suggested as a stage destination, where pilgrims can find accommodation in a guesthouse. The Wolfgang pilgrim will also want to visit the Wolfgangseiche near Neueglofsheim, even if it requires a small diversions.
